Hi I am trying to update my virus definition but it is not updating. I have avast free version 6.0.1000. after receiving message from support@support.avast.com, I was Opened the html page http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=76488.msg633066#msg633066.
but no download link available for virus definition update. Kindly help me.
are you trying to update to latest program version 6.0.1091 ?
or latest virus definition…should happen automatic … latest is 110420-2

I’m having the same problem. When I run the update, it says that I’m current and shows the 110421-1 file, but when I look at the summary, it still shows 110420-2. I click the update, it looks like it’s going to update, but then says its already current. I tried downloading the update the previous post suggested, but got the same results when I tried to update.
Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
Vista, win7 - Repair of avast. Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
You may need to reboot after the repair. This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual VPS version.
