Virus Definition Update Failure

So I use to use avast mobile security long ago and switch to 360 just cause it had that boost feature but after all these years I got sick of it cause they didn’t offer anything good and that feature pretty much was all a shame since most of the apps restart anyways. I decided to switch back to avast for the battery saver app and auto scan feature but to my disappointment no matter how much I try to update or scan it will continue to nag at me saying I have a issue with my virus definition…I try to update manually and it will say I updated successfully but it will say I have the October 2015 version and it’s still pops up with issues after my auto scan.

I have tried uninstalling, deleting the app files, as well as a clean boot on my note 4 and 5 and still nothing, I might as well keep the battery saver app and switch back to 360 since I still did not get a response back from them…shows how much they care about customers, might as well cancel my subscription to 3 of my PC and pick a better provider if they keep this up. I am literally this close to being fed up. The new layout on the website is annoying, I prefer the older one as well as the one on the app. Hopefully they can respond in time on forums if not well BYE.

It would not surprise me if there is a leftover from 360 that is blocking the updates.

It sounds that you contacted avast.
If so, on what date and what is the ticket number ?

I made two I think but the first one didn’t seem like it went through but the second one was two days ago on Feb 26 and the ticket number should be 211363. Also I doubt it’s leftovers cause of two reasons I’ve already tested multiple devices that had leftovers and it will still function fine(I also deleted those by the way) and secondly my new phone Samsung galaxy note 5 didn’t have any a/v and once I downloaded avast still would act up which really stumped me. My friend’s phone is working just fine updated to the latest definition just fine.

I guess I have to either wait for some kind of update or for a specialist to help.

Since you created a ticket, I think it is best to wait and see what avast is saying about it to avoid confusion.

avast is trying to handle tickets within 10 business days.
If you submitted the ticket two days ago, it means this is the first of the 10 business days.
Just have patience and please keep us informed here if you hear anything and/or find a solution as it may help others.
