Virus detected by Avast background: Virus Name "???????(many)>???????"

Avast background detect a virus in memory, ask if you will allow for the transmission of the virus to Avast. You agree, and it recommends to reboot. The PC reboot, scan for some 15 hours, reboot and then again… Virus detected… and then it continuous. I tried to find the virus log but could not find any. I also tried to scan, but this also fails, because the filename in /windows/ contains the “?” charcter, and one cannot search for a file with “?” in it. I am currently using Avast Professional Edition (what I paid for), however it announces itself as standard?

I unfortunately did not write the exact filename down , and it is busy scanning again…
What I can remember was that is was a mail malware, the name of the file was in windows, it contains many question-marks, one greather than sign followed with more question-marks, and it was detected in memory.

What do I do now ?

I suggest you scan with MBAB or/and SAS and see if they can found and solve your problem.
