Virus found-HTML framer

Hello-I am very new to this forum
Yesterday I received a notice from my Web Shield that I had a virus-this came up twice.

It says the virus is in my Avast download–what do I do? I ran an Avast scan today of my program files and nothing came up. I am 81 years of age and really need some help on resolving this issue.

Here is a screen shot I took when the popup was encountered.

Hi pcnovice,

Go to java http://www.java.com/en/ and update to the latest version of java and this will cure your problem, AVG had a similar issue like avast,

polonus

the popup looks to be from AVG ? do you have AVG and avast installed ?

yes, I have always used both and just recently purchased Avast.

And thank you both for such speedy replies!

Having two resident scanners installed is (one too many) not recommended as rather than provide twice the protection it can cause conflicts that could leave you more vulnerable.

why you should only run one AV

and your alarm is probably a False Positive bc you are not

This you can use with your AV

Check your computer for Malware with

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.46 http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
after install click update so you have latest database before scan
click the remove selected button to quarantine anything found
you may post the scan log here
