Virus got through . . .

Just had a computer where something named ANTIVIR just got through AVAST Home Edition. ANTIVIR looks like Antivirus 2009, Antivirus 2010, and whatever else it was called in the past . . . AVAST seems to not clean these up for some reason and we have to use Malware Bytes.

Any information on how to get AVAST to protect against these types of threats would certainly be helpful as we’ve been promoting AVAST to our clients (home to home users and commercial to our business users), but having this get through scares me a bit.

Download the free version of MBAM http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php try running that and see if it removes it.

Malwarebytes PRO will stop it www.malwarebytes.org

I do use Malware Bytes to remove these . . . I’ve had to boot into safe mode and install MBytes, do a quick scan, then boot back into normal mode and do a complete scan in the past. Then, I install AVast and do a boot-time scan, and it finds even more that MBytes didn’t catch.

This is what confuses me - - - people that have AVast running . . . I would think that AVast would not ‘allow’ these rogue programs to infect a machine – am I missing something?

Thank you.

am I missing something?
Well...no security program have 100% detection, and malwarebytes speciality are these rogue programs
