My partner’s accidentally allowed Virus Heat 4.3 (or Virusheat) to install itself on his laptop. Now he gets messages from a Windows-Alert-style tray icon informing him of virus threats, most of his web searches land him at a Virus Heat website, and he is constantly asked to run a full version of the program. Start-up times are slow also. We found details of how to remove at Symantec.com but only for version 3.9, which seems to hit different registry entries. Does anyone know where I can look for help with version 4.3? Avast! scans are now picking up Temp webpages but nothing else, and in the meantime the laptop is next to useless. Before completely reloading Windows, can anyone help? The furthest we got was deleting obvious Virus Heat entries from the registry and deleting the folder from Program Files without effect.
Thanks,
Ian
