Virus HKTL_PASSVW.A

Hi,
I thought I would just try the “Free Trend House Call” to have a second opinion just to check if somehow I had a virus

At the finish of the Trend scan I was notified I had a Virus = HKTL_PASSVW.A = with which with Trend I deleted

Please Note!
Avast Free Home did not show I had this Virus
All my Avast is up to date [both = iAVS and Program]
Running Widows XP OEM Home SP2

Regards

Do you have Protected Storage Passview installed?

If so, the TM scan/deletion has probably just borked it. Hope you didn’t loose your passwords!

In my experience of having run this online scan in the past, a lot of its detections are FP’s.

Regards.

It’s a hacking tool or rootkit that displays passwords in MS Outlook, MSN Explorer, and Outlook Explorer.

maybeok
did you upload this file to “virus total”?
did you submit to Avast?

did you quarantine or remove/delete?
