hey everyone. avast found multiple viruses in a compressed file. i removed the infections and after that deleted the file. i scanned the folder where it was located and no infections were found. but i downloaded it to a larger folder. now i wanna know if a compressed virus can’t infect other files until you extract it. just to be sure. it wasn’t password protected and it was a rar file.
if you did not run any of the files after extracting it you should be safe
you may run a quick scan with Malwarebytes for a second opinion…just in case
then i’m lucky as i didn’t even extracted it. thx for your help
