i also have symantec anti virus in my pc so does avast works properly in presence of other anti virus?
Never run two antivirus program as this can give you lots of mysterious detections and errors. So uninstall the program you does not need ( Symantec/norton.... ;)....)
You should only have one av present at your system, so think about uninstalling one.
Latest avast build is 5.0.499 (pre-release) and 5.0.462 (stable); vps 100410-0 at time of posting.

Doesn’t mean you have viruses after all, see Pondus’ first post above.
I would uninstall symantec software, then make a boot time scan with avast, if possible on your system (32bit!! only) or a full scan.

A further point for your future safety - Deletion isn’t really a good first option (you have none left), ‘first do no harm’ don’t delete, send virus to the chest and investigate.
Re the detections:
What was the malware name, the infected file name/s, where was it/they found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
i tried to delete symantec from control panel but i get error like
the windows installed service could not be accessed. this can occur if you are running windows in safe mode or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. contact ur support personnel for assistance.
i got error in all software whatever i want to delete from control panel.
That is why Pondus gave a link to a site that has info for a number of uninstall tools, which don’t rely on the regular control panel or add remove programs.
I am receiving tomorrow a new notebook but unfortunely it will come with Norton Internet Security installed. I want to remove it before install avast. May I remove it first on ControlPanel and after that run the Norton removing tool or run only the removing tool jumpping the ControlPanel part ?
This is funny all world claiming cause IE is inserted on Windows and Norton is imposed to the customers in all Laptops …

Are you saying that Add/Remove programs on ControlPanel will be enough and the Norton Removing tool will not need ? Or it will better running it after the Add/Removing process to erase all traces of NIS ?
May I remove it first on ControlPanel and after that run the Norton removing tool or run only the removing tool jumpping the ControlPanel part
You can do both, ad/remove and then run the tool. i usually just run the removal tool and it have worked for me.....
unless there is a user guide telling you exact how to......
It may be enough, but you should first arm yourself with the removal tool and you should always use the add remove programs option first. The more recent versions of NIS may be somewhat better behaved when it comes to removing all remnants, but I’m always sceptical when it comes to Norton.
