VIRUS INFO DISPLAY

Just a heads up on a little problem with the “Viruses information” display using the “Enhanced User Interface” (Laptop Active-Matrix 1024x768, Win-98SE).

Clicking on “Viruses information” brings up two right-hand panes. The top pane lists the virus names other info.

PROBLEM: After the normal installation (Pro version # 4.1.396), displaying as above resulted in the TWO LEFT columns (“Name” & “Details”) being completely HIDDEN (collapsed to 0 width). The “Name” and “Details” columns did not appear at all, and the far left column as displayed was “ITW”.

Took me about an hour to realize this, and to solve the problem by simply dragging the column sizes at the top to display the “missing” info.

Thanks for the great work… WWR

WWR,

That works for most tabular windows.

Techie

I agree with WWR.
avast must save the last used column widths and use ‘scroll bars’…
It’s boring have to resize all that colums… :frowning:

Thanks Technical, maybe now somebody will listen.

Maybe not… Sometimes, my wishlist is not read too

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I was just getting ready to do an uninstall/reinstall as I could not see the virus name nor detail column! Thanks so much for the post! You saved me a lot of work!

Love this program! KUDOS to the devs!!!

This Thread is almost 3 years old ???

A long nap?

Please resize your avatar, I offered you one in this post, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=24804.msg209533#msg209533

I had no idea this avatar was this big … my sincere apologies! I’ve re-sized it, so I hope it’s better now.

As for the old post, I was doing a search today to try to fix the disappearing columns in the virus center. It was just the answer I was looking for! I hope it was all right to post to it, even though it was so old.

I’m kinda new at this!

Thanks for your patience!

Of course its alright. Its nice to know someone actually uses the search function.

That is fine, the width is probably the most critical dimension, as no one likes scrolling left and right.

It is good to see people using the search function as there is a wealth of information available. It also brings it to the top of the topic listings and others might also see the useful tip.

You might want to try the Advanced Search link, it gives many more detailed options and filters, one that I find particularly handy is the sort in order of most recent posts. Handy if the problem relates to the latest version, etc.
