First I’d like to say that I did all the recommended fixes. Including creating another folder for Avast dir files. I have ran malware bytes and received 2 pup viruses. Deleted and restarted.
I ran next scan for OTL with settings on help section. I am attaching results. I did not receive an extras OTL though. I will continue running test from help section.
My computer has been acting up with blue screens and random restarts. I have logged in as administrator and it helped to calm the chaos.
I have tested my memory and power supply. My hard drive check disk test have came back good. Temperatures are normal for my setup.
I’m sure my op security credentials are all screwed up now. As I was getting some errors and trying to fix them. DCOM errors I believe. Trying to assign more permissions.
Anyway, I really need help installing Avast and being virus free. I will continue posting logs from my scans.
Thank you very much for your time and your help anyone please. I promise to see this to the end and would appreciate the same.
PFN file list corrupt or maybe PLN
Service control manager 7001 dependency failed to start
fdp host with arguments error 1068
recently I thing page list errors or something. I get a bunch of different ones.
unable to post .dmp files here. Wouldn’t allow me when I tried. I used debugging tool just learning with it. Here is my last bsod debug.
System is fairly old bought on craigslist for $120. Put a new power supply in a year ago with dual 12v rails. Got some new fans and memory chips are Corsair VS brand. Ran memtest over night on them and they tested good next morning. As soon as I clicked out of the test though I got a blue screen. Test was over with no errors, but was weird because as soon as I exited I got BSOD. Could have been start of windows or immediately cannot remember. AMD dual core 6000+, msi motherboard. Hard drives are green 1tb’s. Kinda slow and main one making noise sometimes. Ran some test but was unable to say they are bad.
I think with recent mini dumps you may see a driver is the culprit? I’ll let you examine them and debug and post some more later.
ok so I spent the last hour debugging my dumps. Seems like a lot of memory corruption, audio driver, firefox and plugin errors. I don’t know whats going on. I’ll let you experts see what you think. I had both memory modules installed when I did the memtest. Maybe I need to do it again singles this time. Let me know thanks.
I have included over 15 minidumps in this txt file.
Since all kinds of applications/drivers seem to be causing problems, I suspect faulty/dying hardware.
Is that drive making “clicking” or “scratching” noises ?
If so, it is a very strong indication that it is dying.
If it is making another kind of noise, please try to describe it.
First thing to do (if you haven’t done so already) is making a backup of your data.
You can do it on e.g. a dvd-r(w), online drive etc.
If it was me, I would perform a clean installation of windows.
Disconnect from the Internet (pull out the cable)
Install windows (format the drive ofcourse)
Install ALL drivers for your system
Install avast
Connect to the Internet
Install all updates security/drivers (especially the security updates/service pack)
Install the applications you are normally using
Make settings/configurations changes is you want/need
Create a image of that drive
That last one will safe you a lot of time in case you need to/want to reinstall windows again.
