Virus not detected by Avast

This virus wasn’t detected by Avast. It doesn’t seem to be an awful virus, so I’m not worried but it would be better to detect it.

It starts with a charming beautiful girl in the Windows viewer.
It installed lot lot of files .exe.tmp .dll, etc… and put lot of entries in the system boot.
It put some directory like “Adult content inside” “Adult web site”.
It make send a link to you contact’list to download the virus on a “.nl” server…

Avast detected some virus installed by this one but didn’t detect the virus it self…

Here is the adress of the virus : [link removed by admin]

Thank you for Avast wich is a great product !!!

NEVER put a link to malware on this board.

If you think you have malware that Avast doesn’t detect:

  • put the file in a password protected archive
  • send it to virus@avast.com
  • mention in the body of the mail the password and why you think it is malware that Avast isn’t detecting.

Ok, sorry, I didn’t know…

You never know if people acidently click on it or use it for not so good reasons

This is a Bropia variant. Please see http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/virus.aspx?id=41815. The Alwil team should be adding it into their next virus definition update.

But until then, you can run the Bropia removal tool from Symantec or directly http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxBropia.exe

Excuse me but I have catched this virus with Avast 4.5 with the latest updates. I don’t understand why you can’t. But may be I’m special VIP case. :o
