virus notifications and thorough scan?

im new to avast and was wondering. is there any way to let it do a full scan all the way through and then give me a list of all the infected files at the end, rather than stopping the scan and wait for me to repspond to an alert one by one? this would make it easier to scan without having to sit and watch the whole thing. also, is there any difference between the different levels of scanning, quick, standard and thorough, and scan archived files? a thorough scan with archived files takes a long time, is it worth it to wait?
thanks

Yup, that is possible.
Read the help/manual on how to do so.
Make yourself familiar with avast and the options it gives you.

No, only in Professional version (see picture here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=13315.msg112285#msg112285). In Home version you can check the option “Don’t show this window again” as soon as the first virus warning appears, and click on “No action” button. This way, nothing will be done and you will be presented the results at the end (and you can perform actions from there). But you should wait for the first window in Home version.

Archive files scanning is the difference.
A thorough (with archive files scanning) should be done from time to time (at least, once a month). Worth.
