after running a full scan with the Avast free home edition it found -FILE NAME c:\windows\memory.dmp
MALWARE hllp-vova10.1-b and recommended Remove to chest. this i did but a box appeared stating “Not enough space on disk” How do i rectify this? please.
Free up space on your drive and run defrag. That may solve it.
Other possibility is increasing the Chest size into avast! settings.
Which sizee does this file has?
Anyway, with this name, I think you can delete it. If you can’t, just boot in Safe Mode (F8) and if this failed too, post here again 8)

I did a virus scan just now and found exactly the same virus infecting one of my system restore files - the file name of the virus was HLLP-vova 10.1-B
The file infected was:-
c:\System Volume Information_restore{EFD9E3D4-DE96-4FBB-BD50-72C8E6471885}\RP530\change.log.3
I’m wondering if it’s safe to delete it or whether just turning off System Restore and re-scanning would be a good idea?
I had no problems moving it into the Chest, no other problems were found in the scan and I’m off to scan with Spybot, Ad Aware and Hijack This next. I’m running Windows XP on a Pentium 4 with 3.19 Mhz speed and 250 GB RAM. I did some searches online but couldn’t find much information about either file.
Both. It’s safe to delete (if Windows allow you to delete…) and turning off the System Restore.
When turned off, all System Restore points are deleted and the files are gone…
