Does Avast also have a virus removal tool built in to it? I am new to avast and haven’t had a virus yet so I don’t know if it has a removal tool or not. Someone suggested downloading another program called Kaspersky or something to remove the virus. Is this necessary?

This is more of a standalone tool as Avast will attempt to remove any infections it finds itself. It is not wise to install an additional AV program, like Kaspersky, as more than one AV will most likely conflict with the other in some way.

First it shouldn’t be necessary to use the virus cleaner as it is built in. If avast found a true virus infection (files with just a little code injected into them) and it was covered by the avast virus cleaner then the actual detection process should I believe launch that cleaning process.
