Does anyone know how to get rid of this worm : Win32:1stDnldr-Ag5trj) avast scanned it found it and can’t quarantine. I the removed avast and downloaded again but avast no longer finds the worm. i still have it though. Help if you can

Please Help us to Help you In order to help fully we need more information…

  • What OS are you using? is it up to date?
  • What avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number, e.g. 0436-4 (see about avast!)
  • What was the filename, where was it found
    example (C:\windows\system32\infected-filename.xxx)?
  • What actions have you taken to try and resolve the problem?

If you have XP or Win2k, you could enable a boot time scan.
Try the, schedule boot-time scan in avast’s menu (or try the ‘Schedule Boot-Time Scan’ using RejZoR’s AEC avast! External Control Tool

Virus found in c:/Program Files/Free.fr./uninstall//.exe but i have run the on line scans
and it hasn’t found it.

Also the scans will not complete they all get stuck on Program Files msn games zoo tycoon.

Are you using Windows XP?
Can you schedule a boot-time scanning?
Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning
Select for scanning archives.
Boot. :wink:
