Virus?

Ok i have a brand new laptop. If i go to control panal to change my mouse pointers it says file corrupt is this from a virus if so how can i fix it. online scanners say im clean and so does avast.

It’s just a cursor file that is missing/corrupt.
Expand it from your windows cd to the location mentioned in the errror.

i have no CD none came with the computer for a my recovery media is built in from Pheonix technologies.

The recovery cd should have the file on it.
See if you can extract/expand it from there.

i do not have a recovery CD instead of a recovery CD to recover my computer it came with a built in factory restore by Pheonix Technology. So since i have no recovery Cd how can i recover the file with out a reformat.

You could try a search for the file on-line and you could also check support at pheonix technology. Or you could ask a friend with the same OS and updates, etc. to send you a copy of the file.

I wouldn’t want to do a factory restore as you will potentially lose everything you haven’t backed up as it is probably just a disk image.

ok thanks

Your OS is the same as mine XP SP2 (I doubt there will be a difference between home and pro) PM me with your email and I will send it to you.

Hi justin1278, my hp desktop has both built in application recovery and system recovery. Maybe yours too?
