was running a full scan and it popped up saying a virus was in restore/temp/a0103042.cpy
tried to move it to chest, said access denied. what to do?

This means one of your system restore points is corrupted.
Solution is to open system restore and disable it on all drives, reboot and re-enable it then create another restore point.
problem solved 
A full path to the file would have been useful as it would appear to be in a windows protected storage are associated to system restore and as such is protected by windows from deletion or being moved by avast.

Once you have disabled system restore, reboot, that should automatically delete the contents of the _Restore folders. Scan your PC again and if clear enable system restore.
