Welcome dap106

What was the name of the file?

Was it process.exe by any chance?

The secondary scan you mention is no doubt the avast anti-rootkit scan (8 minutes after boot) it is looking for hidden processes that may be a rootkit. If it is advising ignore I would say take that advice but also send the file to avast (I think that is an option in the detection alert).

By its very nature the file is hidden so it isn’t surprising that you can’t find it, so what was the detected file name and its location ?

the name of the file is windows/system process.exe hope this is the place to answer!

yes it was

When detected on the next anti-rootkit scan (8 minutes after boot) elect to send the sample to avast.
