viruses in C:\Windows\System32\

HELLO, I have some viruses in C:\Windows\System32.…, I want to know if I can to delete those files or what I have to do?
Sorry my poor English.

Deletion isn’t really a good first option (you have none left, even more so when they are in the system folders), ‘first do no harm’ don’t delete, send virus to the chest and investigate.

What is the malware name, the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?

Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast ‘a’ icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections. C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashLogV.exe

Hi Migue ,I am interested if you found a solution to you win 32 virus ,I have the same problem ,Regards Flip

You could start by answering the questions I asked of migue who has so far failed to respond.

I saw something somewhere about using Shift + Del does that work?

Work for what ?

As I said earlier deletion isn’t advised and that included any form of delete, all shift+delete does is delete without sending it to the recycle bin, giving even less in the way of options.

You should listen to davidR and post the following.

It is important to always triple check before deleting any files in the System32 folder. Also, Flip14 you can post the path of your infected files and the malware name. You could also open a new thread if you haven’t done so yet. If you are lucky it’s just a false positive
