VirusTotal.com is using Avast 4.8!????

I don’t know if this is funny or weird, but for the last few days, the on-line Virus Scanner, which scans multiple search engines was not working. Today, it’s back up. However, for Avast it shows that they are using 4.8! You can go to virustotal.com and see for yourself!

I thought maybe they were moving to Avast 6 when there was a problem a few days ago. If there was an issue, you would think they would put their servers back to Avast 5, but not 4.8!!! :smiley:

It has both 4 and 5:

Avast 4.8.1351.0 2011.02.23 -
Avast5 5.0.677.0 2011.02.23 -

Although old versions, they need avast to send then updated builds…

Thanks! Yea, I just looked again, they are both there. At first glance I saw 4.8 and I was like, WTF? LOL!

Is it a job for avast or for virustotal programmers?

both, afaik they need special version of Avast to be delivered for theirs needs, was said by some Avast staff long time ago :slight_smile:
