Hello and Welcome to the Forum
Could you describe your problem in more details ??
What version of Vista are you using ?
Any other Antivirus ?
Any Error message ?
Thanks
Al968
All important parts (system drivers) of avast! are native 64-bit, other parts (tray icon, user interface) are 32-bit, because there is no performance improvement over 64-bit versions.

ashDisp.exe is 32 bit
ashMaiSv.exe is 32 bit
ashServ.exe is 32 bit
AshWebSv.exe is 32 bit
AshUpdSv.exe is 32 bit
I can’t find any Avast process that is running the 64 bit version.
No other AV software… until I find one that really runs in 64 bit mode.

The drivers are 64 bit (otherwise, the resident protection wouldn’t work at all on a 64bit OS). You can’t see the drivers in Task Manager, however - they are not processes.
Yes, avast! processes are 32 bit - there’s no reason it should bother you; there’s no problem about it.
