MacOS has no influence on all this as it’s not a direct competition (you need Mac hardware anyway). So they can delay it for 5 more months and wouldn’t make any difference.
on the contrary, The Hardware is the Same OS X just looks for a TPM Chip to identify that the computer was built by apple.
Plus if apple releases OS X 10.5 first we have a chance to poke more fun at them ;D
