Vista can't boot : aswrvrt.sys problem

Hello everyone.
My VIsta 32 can’t boot anymore on my laptop. It’ a family edition
I first encountered the aswvrt problem like this
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/150x100q90/673/n8j25U.jpg

But afterwards, I couldn’t boot at all.
I don’t have the cd but a recovery partition.

I followed Essexboy advises on the other topics about that problem : I used OTLPE to live boot, then FRST . Here is the logfile.

I wish someone could help me since I worked on it for about 1 week.
Thanks a lot.

Most helpers are sleeping now, so have a little patience.
Essexboy (or someone else) will try to help you soon.

And ofcourse a warm welcome to this webboard.

Thank you very much for your kind welcome. It has become so rare !

From the reatogo desktop select command prompt
Type in the following command and then enter

chkdsk c: /r

On completion boot normally

Thank you very much for your reply. I tried but it didn’t work.
Do you think there might be a link with these lines on the log?

C:\Windows\System32\winlogon.exe IS MISSING <==== ATTENTION!.
C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe IS MISSING <==== ATTENTION!.
C:\Windows\System32\services.exe IS MISSING <==== ATTENTION!.
C:\Windows\System32\User32.dll IS MISSING <==== ATTENTION!.
C:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe IS MISSING <==== ATTENTION!.
C:\Windows\System32\rpcss.dll IS MISSING <==== ATTENTION!.
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\volsnap.sys IS MISSING <==== ATTENTION!.

Looks to me a sfc /scannow is in order.
But please do nothing till Essexboy has responded.

Did chkdsk take long to run ?

As the C drive was not showing on FRST

Not long at all compared to what it should have been. Maybe between 5 and 10 mn. Probably 7 or so

From the recovery console command prompt could you type the following :

diskpart

A new window will open type in :

select disk 0

Then type in :

detail disk

What partitions is it showing

Every partition seems to be there

https://db.tt/g9IJ60Y0

No sign of C though

Run this command :

chkdsk e: /r

and yet C appears in the “letter” column in the previous screenshot.
Chkdsk done

You’re right. Sorry. I got it. The main partition doesn’t show up . You’re right.

In case my first reply was not clear enough (sorry again) :
Chkdsk done :wink:

From the recovery console now try repair my computer

Sorry but do you know how I should launch the recovery console from my Asus ? I think I’ve tried before but that it didn’t work

Do you have a Vista CD ?

No I don’t.
