I can’t say I’m surprised, many enewsletters have been forecasting early 2007 for a retail version for some time.
Yeah, that was kind of expected.
I just think it’s kind of bad that Microsoft can’t release something on schedule. Do you think this will delay office 12?
Since Office isn’t dependent on the Vista O.S., it’s developement isn’t dependent on the Vista release date. ;D
Yes but Microsoft wanted to release the new office version along side with Vista.
MS Office has also been delayed until next year.
Where have you found this information CharleyO
Thank you CharleyO.
I think Microsoft delayed Vista because they discovered a problem and they have yet to come up with a solution. But they do not want to admit it. Why else would they delay it (again)?
I think they delayed office because they want to launch both products around the same time.
By the look of it, Vista might be out by the time my wife lets me buy a new computer, in a couple of years or so. Hopefully it won’t be the dog’s breakfast that some of the comments to the article below suggest it might be!

well i saw patrick nortons video preview of vista and so many of the features were ripped straight from Mac OS X tiger that as far as im concerned Vista is just another copied OS
Main Copied features:
- require password for actions that require administrator rights (implemented in OS X 10.0.0)
- serch copied from spotlight (implemented in OS X 10.4.0)
- Virtual folders that are updated automatically (implemented in OS X 10.4.0)
Kyle my friend, that’s so true… but I am still happy because they finally realised what’s good and which way they need to go in the future… to tell the truth, some things on Mac are copied right from Windows, can’t recall what was that all about, but I found few articles talking about that.
Anyway, you know what should you do ? Man, you should go and start some campaign collecting our votes to bring those Apple prices down finally… I am sure, millions of people would consider switching without having second thoughts… yes, true… many wonderful programs for PC are still not available for Macs, but once something becomes more and more popular, I am sure software developers wouldn’t have too much of a trouble to find out where is a “healthy soil” to plant their seed.
Better delayed than half finished…
I agree with S.Z.Craftec many people do not use Mac or Apple products because the products are so expensive.
