Vista Event Viewer AVAST ERROR

x

Hi,

The terminology you used goes beyond my computer level. But if it helps I have used Avast for 2 years now on Vista home premium and Home Basic with no major issues. I have none of the errors you describe in my Event viewer. I check it often and I have never seen this type of error. Personally i would uninstall and do a clean install.
For uninstall read: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=36921.0

If you wish to avoid the un-install, it would help if you mention your system version and any other security software you have on it. Other users will be able to assist you better that way.

Cheers

The members of the avast team often visits the forums. Hopefully, one of them will post help for you in this thread.

Well, the link to create a support ticket works OK from here.

It would be useful to know what AV you were using before Avast (if any) and did you install it on an admin account?
(I’m guessing from your post that this is quite a recent or even new installation?)
Any other security software installed?

I do not see those errors on my Vista home Premium system but the previous things to check sound good.

I like Event Log Explorer™

Event Log Explorer helps you to quickly browse, find and report on problems, security warnings and all other events that are generated within Windows. Thanks to Event Log Explorer, monitoring and analysis of events recorded in Security, System, Application and other logs of Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista operating systems gets much faster and really effective.

It will work for 30 days and if the FREE personal license is requested then it will continue to work:

Doesn’t work here … just shows blank page.

Thats why I’m looking at this forum.

No. You shouldn’t and haven’t to do that.
Anyway, does not mess verbose of the logs and real problems. Maybe everything is fine in your computer…

What browser do you use, and what (if any) security asides from Avast?
I guess, since you wanted to raise a support ticket, you have some kind of other problem apart from being unable to view the support ticket page?
Let us in on it.

bendan,

A number of users have found that older cookies for that page have caused this problem.

In your browser please check for and erase all support.avast.com related cookies and it should be OK when you retry.

You mean another user with similar problem posting a new thread?

Respecting your right to post … but … can we combine all your conspiracy theory posts into just one?

And perhaps you would do us the kindness of not posting in caps.

Check your Caps Lock key.

You are SHOUTING ::slight_smile:
