Avast has always worked perfectly on my system but since the Vista HP 64-Bit update recently (Not installed Vista SP1 yet and no change to system other than the MS recent update), Avast now stops during the Windows system virus check on C: requiring a PC reset as a total freeze happens. (Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus, 4Gb Corsair, Raptors, 1xEGVA 8800 GTS 640Mb, Toughpower 850W)
Anybody else have this problem or an idea how to fix would be appreciated please.

PS - Thorough scan with scan archive activated
Typical! Since the Vista update, on the 13th February, I ran Avast twice and both times it locked the PC requiring a reset. I have just run my same scan (C: D: and E: partition) twice and once, just on the Windows dir., and perfect - no lock up! The only difference with these scans was I had run Windows Defender on a quick scan before I rechecked Avast but I can’t see that would have made any difference.
I will report back if I have any further lock-ups and thanks for your interest.
