Recentry, my Vista security center starts to be telling me that I don’t have any antivirus programs. Yes, I have Avast!.
Microsoft even suggests recommended antivirus products on its web pages. Naturally, there is no Avast entitled.

Although I just told Vista Security Center that ‘let me take care of it by myself’, I would love to have Avast listed on that page.
What do you think, guys?

This would appear to be the same problem that occurred with the XP Windows Security Center and it seems to also happen with Vista.
Check this which was an XP solution, I don’t know if any of those will also work with Vista - Solution when Windows Security Center does not recognize antivirus or firewall
This post in that topic although about XP, by all accounts also works for Vista, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=23457.msg242781#msg242781.
What is on the MS page about recommended AVs bears no resemblance to this problem.
This happen to me once on Vista.
The procedure on the link that David informed works like a charm. Not avast is shown there in WSC.

Yes, it worked fine with Vista too. Now my Vista recognizes Avasta as an AV software on my PC.
Thanks a lot.
Good to know that it works for more than once ;D
Feel free to come back any time you need help.

I’d be happy if Microsoft lists Avast as one of recommended AV software. But I don’t care if it doesn’t.
I hope Avast is keeping one of the best AV softwares all over the world anyway.
