I downloaded Avast Home 4.8 and I’m having compatibility problems.
I have Vista SP1 Business.
It installed and seems to be running fine, but Vista keeps on informing me that it is not compatible.

If you can post the full information or post a screenshot, I’m sure someone should be able to help (I don’t use Vista).
Bump… anyone?
Should I try updating to that beta version that is floating around the forum?
Personally I don’t think that would make any difference as the same VPS would be there, it may be an issue with the WSC as there have been problems with it in winXP also. Though I have never seen this message in the forums relating to winXP and avast, usually it is the WSC reporting either it is out of date (when it isn’t) or that an AV isn’t running or detected when it is.
For the last two faults we have repaired the WSC, now I don’t know if these would work with Vista.

I tried to solution you posted David. It didn’t work. For now, I’ll just turn it to “monitor myself.”
Vista SP1 really doesn’t live up to its hype.
did you already try to repair your installation of avast!
or uninstall and reinstall it?
How do you repair installation? And yes, I have tried re-installing it. I actually did it twice with no luck. :-\
okay, if reinstalling doesn’t help a repair installation won’t help either…
a repair installation could be done through the system control panel - via ad/remove programs → choose avast! and click change/remove (or however it is called in englisch) and then repair the installation…
