Laptop will not boot after running avast scan. Gets hung up on aswRvrt.sys when booting in safe mode. Booted using OTL and ran FRST. I have attached the log. Any help is appreciated.
Did Avast report a zero access or sirfef infection ? I will need to do a second FRST fix once you are in normal windows
Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST as before and press Fix
Once completed reboot to normal windows and let me know
Not sure if anything malicious was found, scan was ran before going to bed. I’m sure there is a lot of junk on it as this is my wife’s computer. I’m able to boot normally and have ran FRST again. Not sure if I needed to but I’ve attached log.
OK we will now run the second fixlist
Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST … Allow it to over write
Run FRST and press Fix
THEN
Download OTL to your Desktop

Ran FRST fix. Ran OTL scan as instructed. OTL freezes when scanning firefox settings. Waited awhile to see if it would finish and never did. Tried running scan a second time with same results.
OK that is a known problem when it tries to scan a corrupt FF profile… So I will use the final programme I was going to use next . Meanwhile how is the computer behaving now
