I opened a .mkv file with VLC and it took a while to answer. When it did, an Avast sandbox message appeared asking me to run it on a virtual mode (sandbox), and I chose “Stop opening”. Then I opened the actual program instead of the file, same thing came up. I have used VLC Media Player for years and I haven’t gotten any troubles, is it because of an Avast update? I don’t get it, has anyone else gotten this too?

Hi tomado73,
@Asyn, you beat me to it by a sec…
There is a later version. Open up the VLC Media Player console, left click help and click check for updates and update to the latest version,

But is that the cause of the warning? IS there an exploit in this version?

Ok thanks
I already have a install file for version 1.1.5. Does that have an exploit?
