I don’t want to switch to another AV…I tried to reinstall avast, but no results. All I can notice is the avast.setup process always running, I don’t know if this is normal. I can’t update.

I need your help… :-[

1.The problem is only with avast?
2.You can use other programs without conections problems? (like windows update & others programs updates)

my avast is now updating on my computer it keep stating that the old virus has expired and want let me update I have brought the avast antivirus which I paid 59

wonder: please download http://public.avast.com/~kurtin/aswLock.exe and copy&paste output values, thanks.

Hi PK thanks for your interest,
i downloaded aswLoock.exe, and launched it. I had a black window reporting “press any key to contnue”, but when I press any key, window desappear and nothing seems to happen… ???
This is what I have:

CreateMutex #1 : hMutex = 10, err = 0
Createmutex #2 : hMutex = 28, err = b7

Press any key to continue…

Thanks, it means an avast setup instance is already running - please follow these steps:

  1. Run Task Manager (taskmgr.exe)
  2. Is there any avast.setup process running in Process tab?
  3. If yes, please download http://public.avast.com/~kurtin/hangrep.exe, find avast.setup process, click “Save…” and please send me process dump to kurtin@avast.com
    Thanks!

Ok, looking at the task manager there’s avast.setup running ALWAYS ;D
I just tried to save the dump file but hangrep gives me an error (failure code: 13). The generated file has a 0 byte size…

It seems, updater uses an incorrect or non-functional proxy server:
SYNCER: Proxy 192.168.1.1:8080

What’s your settings in “Settings → Updater → Proxy Settings” ? Please try to check “Auto detect”, is it better now?

Actually I bought a new router-modem few days ago…the IP you have is its Ip. Update options are already setted on “autodetect”. I tried even disabling the router firewall…no results. Avast is the only one software that has problems with this new hardware (brand: TRUST, model: 4050)…

Hi,
it is rather unusual for a router to work as a HTTP proxy by default. Why not to use direct connection (the first option in Settings/Updates/Proxy Settings)

?

Problem is that I’m totally ignorant about proxyes, connections, protocols…ehm…I bought this new modem/router since the mine one was dead…now I tried to set the router as the picuture attached below…

Just choose direct connection instead of this and see if it works.

I don’t know why, I don’t know how…but now it works!!! Thanks everyone who spent his time helping me
P.S. I’m sure I already tried the direct connection option…anyway, now it works, that’s tha main thing.
