Voting

I wonder if it wouldn’t be better to provide a little more information as to what we are being asked to vote for such as a link to a descriptive page etc. ?
Hardly seems adequate to be placing a vote like a shot in the dark.

I wonder if you could be a little more descriptive in telling us what in the world you’re talking about.

It’s a request to vote for Avast to allow Avast to present at the upcoming RSA Conference.
I have to agree with davyjones that this isn’t the kind of popup that should be shown.
Avast, post this on your facebook page but not as another popup.
Most people don’t even know what RSA is.

I have been getting 2, 3 advert pop ups daily that I no longer pay attention to them.

Plain and simple, These popups are getting out of hand!

After time many people don’t take any notice of them - which kind of defeats the object of them - or they start to find a way to kill them.

Has anyone started to think creatively yet - change avast settings to silent/gaming mode. This however, may have other undesired effects.

When push comes to shove, people start looking for ways to prevent these all too frequent popups or consider switching AVs. Both of which defeat the whole point of the ads, there has to be a balance or it becomes more difficult to actually ignore them.

Call me suspicious (OK I’m suspicious), I had to wonder why the check-box in popups for auto update notification was removed - when these ads were piggybacked on to the auto update notifications - disabling the auto update notifications also removed the ads. Break the ability to disable auto update notifications and the ads remain and are displayed when you actually get an auto virus definitions update.
