I’ve downloaded this update today, but on opening Avast to scan, 0418-0 is still showing. I’ve tried rebooting but it still shows 0418-0.
Anybody else getting same issue or able to help?
Thanks
nope avast pro is showing latest Virus Definition version.
home edition showing the latest too ???
In that case, can anyone from Alwil Support please advise. Do I need to do a re-install perhaps?
What happens when you invoke the update once more?
no…don’t reinstall yet…wait for more advices…
have you try to do a manual update?
Tried that a few times, update window advises 0418-1 is downloaded but on opening avast to scan it still shows 0418-0. This is the first time ever I’ve had this issue.
In case it’s relevant I have installed the latest beta version of Spybot (1.3 rc4) in the last few days. Could that possibly be the culprit?
i dont thik spybot has anything to do with it but only an avast programmer can tell for sure.

Yes, but no change.
try a manual update from here
If you select “Virus Database” from the main menu - can you find e.g. Beagle-Y in there?
(Just to find out if the database is not updated, or if only the version display is wrong).

Yes, here’s exactly what’s in there…
Win32:Beagle-Y [Wrm]
Win32:Beagle-Y- Unp [Wrm]
Hmm, there should be 4 items, in the latest VPS.
Can you try the “manual” update, as shgoh suggested?

Just tried that and got this response…
“This VPS update is older then currently installed. You don’t need to update VPS”
Do you now think I need to do a complete re-install?
Have done a complete re-install. All ok again now.
