VPS : Not Enough Storage for Command

Dear Avast users,

I have installed Avast 5 the 19/09/2015. Till the 8/11/2015, all VPS updates ran with success. Then, I have the following message (not strictly exactly the same for my Avast version is in french): Not Enough Storage to run this command. So, I cleaned several TMP and Tempory Internet Files directories without success. After, I downloaded the vpsupd.exe from Avast WebSite but I have this message after its running: VPS Database is already up to date.

I do not understand… I have Avast 5: Yes, I know that it is a very old version, but before I used Avast 8 with lots of problems (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=176388.0) and I had also this problem of “Not Enough Storage to run this command”…

What about you? Do you have an idea please?

Yours faithfully, Philippe.

You need to upgrade the OS and install the latest version :

Dear Eddy,

Thank you for your answer and happy new year.
This OS and this Avast version are widly compatible. And it ran properly during several months. Why now is there this kind of problem? That is the question. When your car has a problem, you do not upgrade your motor to a more recent one… You repair it! In any case I do it :-).

Kind regards, Philippe.

If you can get parts .... you are running a T-ford (almost)

A good solution is :

  • Not having that system connected to any network
  • Not installing any new software on it

Best solution :

  • Don’t use it anymore
  • Have a recycling company taking it apart, retrieve the (precious) metals from it etc.

PhilouD this will be helpful to you https://blog.avast.com/2015/05/06/support-for-older-avast-windows-consumer-version-will-end/

Dear Avast users,

Thank you for your answers. For your information, I tried to update my VPS database by downloading the file directly from Avast WebSite. After running, I have the message “VPS database is already up to date”. This happened the 01/15/2016.

This evening, Avast updated automaticaly alone without any problem.

Have a good week. Yours faithfully, PhilouD.
