Hello! i visit Avast! home page often. And I noticed that there is a new VPS update. it’s the 0623-1. But if I try to update Avast! it says that my VPS (0623-0) is the latest update. I tried updating it using the iVPS button in the main interface of the program. I still use the Avast! version 4.6-763. I’m still waiting a bit to download the latest one. I’d like to know if there is a probem with my Avast! I tried downloading the VPS archive from the site and install it manually but I got the same alert. I’m a bit confused. My main interface is still saying I have installed the VPS version 0623-0. Thanks.
That looks correct according to mine 0623-0 is the latest but as you say avast.com VPS History shows 0623-1 with over 100 new trojans signatures added.
So it would appear that there is a problem with the update function. Either the latest VPS 0623-1 being incorrectly identified as 0623-0 or the update servers haven’t been updated so update will be blocked for that. This however, isn’t meant to happen as the updates servers, VPS file and web site VPS History, etc. are meant to be updated at the same time I believe.
So I guess we will have to hope it is corrected soon.
Mine is 0623-0 … maybe just an error on the webpage or the last update is applied but did not change the number of the VPS locally :

Hi I am having the same problem mine is still 623-0 too.
I was afraid I had to uninstall and install Avast! again. I’m glad it’s not only me. I usually see the new update in the site before my Avast! copy update itself. So I usually update manually. That’s why I was a bit worried that it wasn’t updating the VPS. Thanks for your answers.
Well it could be an error on the web page as there is no 0623-0 on the page, but I don’t think so, unless that was only FP corrections and wasn’t listed (at least something should be mentioned to avoid this possibility).
I have just done a search of the page (using firefox search) for the first virus on the list and no other occurrence was found. I also did a random selection of the signatures in 0623-1 on the page an no duplicates found.
However, a search of the virus database doesn’t show an entry for Win32:Zlob-CX or Win32:Delf-AKE [Trj], which are listed on the 0623-1 history.
So I quess and wait to see what Vlk or other say. Thanks for the input that others have mention. I was ready to unistall install it again. If I did not see this on the forum either. People should apprecate how good this forum is informing others. of the problems before we do something silly like me by jumping the gun before checking.

Hi I got my update for 623-0 yesterday morning at 6:01 am that was a new update
than I got the one 623-1 at 10:21 am eastern time today but before I went to the forum I did a IAVS update to see if there was one and my showed 623-0 was the last one. It is weird. But something like this happen similar like this last week there was no 622-0 and I get a update for 622-1 and never got the update for 622-0 and I wrote about it and if I recalled Igor saying it was 622-1 not 622-0. So I did not persude it any farther because nobody else said anything when I mention in the forum. This is strange and I am suprise there isn’t anybody writing on this subject, except the ones writing in this VPS not updating reporting and I just don’t think it is just YLAP.DavidR,Tech,emy80 and myself that is just expereincing this. There must be others. This is weird that there isn’t others menting about this. Look at May 30th Page 4th on this forum what I wrote. It almost sounds the same.

I tried updating again just now and it seems it worked. Latest VPS is 0623-1. Maybe it was just a little delay. I’m just happy to have confirmed i have the latest virus definition.

Yep, it worked. The date is 06-06-06, the update is there, safely updated to version 0623-1. Most recent update, and running.

Yes the hiccup now appears to be resolved and 0623-1 is available for update.

Hey just updated VPS to the latest version. ;D Yesterday was 2006-06-06… Today everything is ok.
