VRDB icon missing after reinstall

I have had some spyware issues with “Windows Security Center.Anitvirus Override”…i think i have those resolved. Anyway, I reinstalled avast home 4.6 on XP and i don’t see the VRDB icon, only the on-access icon. question 1) Is there a way to turn on VRDB generator 2) If there is, where is it?

Thanks…dang kids

Right click the ‘a’ blue icon and go to VRDB submenu. Split from one to two icons.
Choose when VRDB should be generated…

Welcome 8)

Right click the 'a' blue icon and go to VRDB submenu.

there is no VRDB submenu in the Menu after right clicking the blue icon…i looked for that already, i forgot to mention i’ve used avast for years with no problems…just can’t figure this out

thanks for your help

Strange really…
Did you try to repair your avast installation?

I have encountered the same issue. There is no VRDB icon for me to right-click, and nowhere under the blue “A” icon for me to pull it up either. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalld avast and I’m still having the same issue.

What version of avast are you using, the latest is 4.7.817 ?

Click ‘Settings’ in my signature and browse to the section [VRDB] into avast4.ini file.
Be sure your settings are the ones for ‘two splitted icons in system tray’ and not only one.

Alternatively, this could be done by the context menu of the ‘a’ blue icon > VRDB > Split… But it’s strange that there is not a VRDB submenu in your case… ::slight_smile:
