Vulnerability in Microsoft Font Driver Could Allow Remote Code Execution

Anyone know if Avast! is protecting against this new font vulnerability??

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/ms15-078.aspx

Thank you!

MS has already released a (emergency) patch, no need for avast to protect you from it.
Simply keep your system up-to-date.

Thanks for the reply Eddy. Our organization has a testing process for all MS updates, so this probably won’t be applied for a few days. However, our AVAST! receives updates as soon as Avast releases them. So I was just wondering if there is already protection from AVAST! for this.

Thanks!

More information about the patch:

The good news:

AMongst some other things, the TTF:CVE-2015-2426 [Expl] detection was added yesterday

Awesome… thank you Eddy!

You’re welcome.

It really isn’t hard to find out the answer to questions like you have asked.

1] Lookup information about the vulnerability (mainly to find the CVE number).
Ofcourse you can look at the technet website, but news websites almost always have also information about it.
Many offer a link to the information on a MS website.

2] Look at the avast VPS history.

If you have a problem, want to ask something or…
You know how to find this webboard
