I have a W2K server running RC2 that won’t communicate back to the AMS. There are no errors in the event log or the avast log files on the client. Where else should I look?
Look in the data\avast4.ini file. What’s in the ServerAddress= field?
BTW has the machine ever connected to the AMS?
ServerAddress=192.168.1.43
and no it has never communicated with the AMS.
…and I assume this is the correct address?
And the LastServerAddress= contains the same thing?
Really strange… because it has appearently found the server, and attempted to connect to it.
No unpXXX files in \data\log? Nothing?
Thanks
Vlk
Yes it is the correct address.
Yes LastServerAddress= contains the same thing.
There are no unpxxx files in the \data\log directory.
I can reinstall and see if that will do it.
Hmmm… I don’t like this. According to the stuff in the ini file, some communication did take place - but appearently, the server didn’t notice… :-\
Any chance I could get remote desktop access to that machine?
Sorry too late, I’ve already reinstalled and it is working fine now. Just a little to trigger happy I guess.
