i recently contracted this worm and of course all of my anti-virus software programs won’t work. is there a way to get rid of it? any help is much appreciated.

Have you tried a boot time scan with avast!?

If that didn’t work, there’s a removal tool:

The instructions say:

Note: The fixtool needs to be run within about 1.5 minutes of the worm’s execution. If it is not, the worm will lock the keyboard and mouse.
If this happens, restart the computer and immediately run the tool. <<

If you’re already locked and now using a different pc maybe you could try downloading the tool, burn it to cd, and install it on the infected machine immediately after rebooting. Depending on how long that takes you might have to reboot again to run it.
