i think i got this virus because i can’t download files off the internet and i searched why could not download and they said it was a virus and there is nothing you can do about it, but is there something you can do

What is your browser ?

Why do you think you have this virus, do you have any other information other than you can’t download ?

Have you tried a different browser to download or a download manager ?

If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it.

  1. Ad-Aware
  2. Spybot Search and Destroy
  3. Spywareblaster Don’t install this until you are clean.
  4. Ewido Security Suite If using winXP. or a-Squared free if using win98/ME.

Have you tried any on-line scanners ?

Hi Axsweb,

First try a boot time scan with avast! (Right click on the scanner screen and select ‘schedule a boot time scan’- set the default action to move to chest if you have a cordless keyboard because it won’t work during the scan.)

After that, download, install, update and scan with the following programs, preferably in safe mode (tap F8 while booting.)

Ewido http://www.ewido.net/en/(Requires Win2000/XP)

 and/or a-Squared [url]http://www.emsisoft.com/en/[/url]

Ad-Aware http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html

Spybot Search & Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/

If that doesn’t fix it, try this removal tool, as I think you might have the SdBot worm (w32.kbot seems to be associated with CMD32.EXE which is this worm.)
