W32.Zafi-B

Zafi B spreading like wildfire here in the UK. Hows it elsewere?

Hi James,

Not so many field reports here - but I have heard from other sources that it is really out there!

I’m getting about 10 of them every day – not so bad… 8)

There is 1 worrying thing. Avast Pro let me unzip it to my desktop. then drag and drop the infected file to my recycle bin without alerting???

Move Standard Shield slider to High Sensitivity.

Here i have it on my email :o.But Avast deletes the attachsments

A new variant of Zafi worm - Zafi.B is spreading. While the original Zafi.A uses only Hungarian, the new Zafi.B spreads in email in English, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Swedish etc.

The worm sends itself in emails mostly as .pif attachment and in rare cases it sends .exe or .com.

Anyone who downloads emails with attachments, from people they don’t know and then open said (.pif, .com, .exe) attachment, well it just baffles me.

Common sense, is a hugely under rated means of protection. I use mailwasher to scan email prior to downloading the ones that aren’t spam or suspect.

nothing to report from the USA. Although I do still recieve a lot of NetSky variants in my eamil
