W32BEAGLE@MM!zip

I am new to this, sorry if it isnt correct.

Anyway,my prob.is our mail server.
Symantec detects-
w32.beagle@mm!zip
Win2003,lotusnotes,symantec antivirus

fileserver,DNS,printer server are protected with avast since jul 2005.
and are not infected.

ive used the fxbeagle.exe from symantec and the aswclnr.exe from avast,
they come up with nothing.

before i reboot and scan in safe mode i would like to ask you for your advice.
i would like to have a plan before i down our mail server.

can anyone help?

Well, this is avast forums and not Symantec support.
Can you send an email for their support?
How did you run avast Cleaner? I mean, does it return nothing?
Can you run it at Safe Mode?

that was not exactly the welcome i expected from Avast forum but ok,i thank you for your reply.

if it was my choice i would have Avast on our mailserver.

we have oprox. 30 users and for over a year weve been using Avast products.
i my self use the ADNM every day and i am very happy with it.

ive looked through this forum for hours at a time to anwer my Avast questions.
the forum has served me well.

So…i would like to contribute.

ok,back to the problem.

i just wanted to know if anyone was familiar with this paticular Beagle variant.
if so maybe thay could give me some advice.

because when i down the server i wont have much time to remove it,i have 30 mail users waiting for mail.

thanks to all that reply

I did not intend to be rude… just that Symantec should give you support, shouldn’t it?
Sorry. I’m just an user like you. I did not speak for Alwil team.

So, let us help you if we can 8)

Thanks… we’ll be happy with more people helping here.

The problem is that avast couldn’t detect it… don’t you think?
What can it clean if it does not detect it?
Can you send an email with the file to: virus@avast.com

You can use Alwil FTP server as a second way to transfer only big files. Upload them to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming (please, note that you won’t have READ access to the ftp server, just write - so you won’t even be able to see what you’ve just uploaded).

Sorry again if I seem rude at first 8)

Did you try to run anu online scanners like kaspersky or even symanec, or housecall ??

That would help and make you that you are really infected.

!! Welcome to the Forum !!
