Just today Avast stopped providing on access scanning for Outlook. The error message is “waiting for a subsystem to start”. I have been using Cloudmark as a spam filter for two years, so I doubt that’s the conflict. Any thoughts?

Hi…
Did this happen right after a program update or anything else?
You can try a repair installation to see if that would fix it. Just go to “Control Panel” and then “Add/Remove Programs,” and then click on avast, if you’re using Windows XP.
Let us know if this helps.
Best Regards…
I don’t think this a big problem. Try restart you computer.
Make sure the avast plugin is not disabled into MS Outlook:
Outlook 2007 > Tools > Trust center > Add-inns > Manage Disabled items.
Outlook 2003 > Help > About > Disabled items.
Outlook 2002 > Help > About Microsoft Outlook > Disabled items.
Outlook 2000 > Tools menu > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Add-In Manager.
If you start Outlook, will the message disappear and the plugin start?

The plug-in was disabled. Thank you!

So, you’ve enabled it and not it’s working? ???
