Waiting time for Registration Key via eMail lasts 10 times longer than announced

Please consider: it is not so important how long it takes between request for registration key and delivery of the eMail – but it is not acceptable that you announce 30 minutes to wait, but it lasts more than 6 to 8 hours!!!

Please change the announcement text from “Your free license key is sent by email within 30 minutes after this registration.” to “Your free license key is sent by email within several hours after this registration.”

Btw.: usually such a process should last some minutes; but it can happen that you try again after an hour if no email did arrive so far – and then you have more keys than needed …

Try registering through the UI and there will be no need for keys or waiting

Once an email is sent out, the sender has no control over how long it takes to get to you.

Perhaps there was a problem with a mail server along the line, or at your service provider?

You are using a free service … the key arrived, why give yourself such a beating over it?

Yes, it does – but it also says that it should not last longer than 30 minutes!

That’s clear so far; but the request was at 23:35 (or something else), and the send time (not the receive time of my server!) of the key was 07:10 (or something else) the next day – and that’s far too long for “30 minutes”!!

Nope, definitively not, as i was requesting a second one over a different provider and additionally sent a test mail from both accounts to the other and both arrived within seconds …

I told in the first sentence of the first post that delivery time itself is NOT the problem – but it should not be announced as “within 30 minutes” if it lasts more than 10 times longer and is sent 6 to 8 hours later!! It’s just a question of correct information!!

Correct information would be to announce something like: “Please be aware that delivery can last several hours until the eMail with the license key arrives” …

What you experienced is the exception not the norm, so I somehow doubt that they would change the wording on an exception.

The main point that we are also trying to make here is that with the new registration method (from the avastUI) that has been in for some considerable time from avast 7 for sure and possibly even from avast 6.

The registration from the avastUI has been the recommended method for some time. The off-line registration is now as a means of registering a system that doesn’t have an internet connection or for some reason you are unable to register from the avastUI.
