Wamp vs Avast

Hi,

I’m working with WAMP to study websites creation.

For a few days AVAST makes my virtual hosts connections very slow.

I wonder if it’s since a new Avast update ? (current is 19.3.2369 (version 19.3.4241.450))

Any clue on that ? And how can i get my connection speed back without desactivate Avast while i’m working in local ?

Edit : noticed “Web agent” is causing this trouble. Disable “Script analysis” solves the issue.

Windows 10 rebooted, didn’t change anything.

At the moment, only disable Script analysis make it work.

Hi. I tried to reproduce the issue, unsuccessfully. Seems solved now, even if I enable “script scanning” option in Web Agent.
I don’t know what changed…
I will keep the option enabled, and if the issue appears again, i will report it here.

Ok ! I finally managed to reproduce the issue.

New clue : seems that anti-exploit shield (combined with anti-rootkit shield ?) makes the problem to appear.

There is more : i noticed that it works only if i disable anti-exploit shield (with all other shields) by windows taskbar quick access.
If i uncheck exploit detection in shields parameters, the issue persists.

Hi logan.nehri,
we got stuck after installation of wamp we saw wampserver Homepage but dont know what to do as a next step. We tried to access urls mentioned in move but I got 404 error. Your browser looked like chrome can you tell me which version, architecture and what extensions do you use.
Are we supposed to create a new wamp project ?
Please provide us exact steps to induce it.

Dear Kwiq,

It is normal that you can’t access to URLs showed on my movie : they only work on my computer.

What you are asking to me is how to create a website in local environment, using WAMP. It’s pretty hard for me to teach you that.

Even if i do so, the issue is noticed in very specific conditions :

  1. I create the website with the framework Wordpress
  2. I’m using a javascript library called barba.js. Its purpose is to allow to create smooth website page transitions without having to refresh the page.

    Barba.js is using ajax (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajax_(programming)).
  3. The issue happens when Barba try to load the new page.

But i have some news.

Since i disabled the 2 suspicious shields, i noticed some miraculous improvements :

  1. to load pages in Firefox is so much faster.
  2. I’m playing a french MMO game, made in flash. (https://www.dofus.com/en/prehome)
    For months i couldn’t play it anymore due to hard freezing. Now it’s perfectly smooth.

I wonder if it’s not easier/funnier for you to reproduce my issue by testing this game, rather than some WAMP testing ?
The game is English friendly, and you can test it without having to pay a subscription.

This weekend i will take some time to record a video of the game, showing you differences with/without the both shields.
After discovering the solution, i posted on the game forum to explain other players how to remove both shields. Some grateful answers show that i’m definitively the only one to have theses issues!

So… WAMP or Dofus ? :wink:
