want to be sure

For the last few days my connection to the net seemed to be slower than normal, just thought it was my cable co. Then this morning I was going to do a full backup, step 1 of that is to update and run malwarebytes, and in my attempt to update it, I got this:

This has never happened before so bells and alarms go off. Strange part is that the update did complete. I did close and restart mbam before running it and it did indeed run. Anyway, here’s the logs. I’m hoping it’s nothing, but in today’s world you never know.

Nothing apparent in the logs, are there any other symptoms ?

The only other thing I’ve noticed is that when I run Mbam now (quick scan) it seems to skip some files. That is the number checked jumps from about 1500 to 33000.

Just tried my MBAM out and I also have a jump about midway

Nice to know that Mbam appears to be skipping files there as well. That had me worried, especially after that event id 1000 that had happened when I went to update it earlier. No idea what that was all about, guess I won’t be concerned about it unless it happens again.
Thanks for checking Essexboy. Now go have 6 or 12 cold ones!

Well I generally don’t sit watching a scan ticking over (like watching paint dry), generally I fire and forget, come back and see it has finished.

So I ran a quick scan and sat watching it, god 3min 44sec is an eternity (168823 objects scanned), but no big jumps at all. I had a couple of pauses where the file type being last scanned was a .lnk (so may have been checking the various links) and a .mof file type.

According to the event log, you don’t have the latest version of MBAM, which is 1.51.2.1300 (as far as I’m aware as my Pro version auto updates. So I would get the latest version as there is little point in chasing down problems in old versions.
