Warning from Toshiba Wizard after clicking on ad

Sorry, I know I just had a “issue” recently, but I’m possibly having another one. :-\

Earlier today my family member accidentally clicked on a ad on frontier e-mails on the family computer and after I did a up-to-date MBAM scan, everything came up clean. However, I turned the computer off and a while later, when I turned it back on a big giant box popped up before I could even login, that said

“Warning!” (from Toshiba Wizard or something)

The “Warning” was in huge letters and all the text was in red. It said something about backup and recovery and that all data will be rewritten etc etc…
Sorry, I don’t remember everything it said.

But I didn’t do anything related to backing up the computer before I turned it off.
After seeing the warning pop up, I was afraid it might be malware of some kind and I pulled out the battery. I then started up the computer again. The computer started up slower than usual, but every now and then the family computer will go slower than normal.

MBAM says we don’t have malware and Avast! hasn’t detected anything yet.

Is this normal? Or is this possibly malware?

If this is a Thoshiba computer then i guess this comes from some program that they put on it new

look in all programs for Thoshiba and you probably find a useguide or something…

see Google

So this may not be malware? Good.

From what I can understand, then the “Warning” pop up I got was MAYBE just because Toshiba’s Wizard thing, stopped working?

Thanks for the quick reply.

EDIT:Oh forgot to mention, other than the weird pop up message and the computer going slower, everything else was normal.
