Am rather new user, so I don’t even know if these are important or not…

Warning Log:

11/5/2004 15:08:26 NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM 1676 Function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0x20000004, dwRes is 20000004.
11/5/2004 15:08:29 NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM 1676 An error has occured while attempting to update. Please check the logs.

Did you try to repair your installation through Control Panel?
Did you try running C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX and boot after that?
Do you have MS Office? Which version?

Repairing the installation via windows control panel [Add/Remove Software] seems to have solved the problem.
