Warnings: file or directory is corrupted and unreadable

What exactly am I supposed to do with these? I guess I should also add the ‘file or directory is corrupted and undreadable’'s to that list of warnings, there a quite a few, so got me thinking that my scans aren’t really running… I’ve been using Avast for quite a while, and active internet scanning seems to be OKish…but I go back into Avast dashboard after the most recent update to see that all of my settings are null, no scans scheduled and absolutely no scan history. Is this the new platform? (yeah, I’m not really on top of things, but hey, I try at least) (I figured out I COULD change the topic lol)

I’d already read that, didn’t quite hit the mark-it did for all but 3 of them that had the ‘corrupted and unreadable’ thing, and I was more curious about those-since I’d read that blog-but couldn’t change my topic. But also, any idea why my scan history is now empty and all of my setting were off-ie no scans scheduled. I had to go back and redo all the scheduling for the quick scans and the full scans and such. It was just after this last update that it was like that, I believe-I think, I hope lol? I just figured it was running because I wasn’t having any problems, and today I had to cold boot because I had an unexpected shut down of sorts, and decided to run my maintenance earlier in the day, that’s when I found that my Avast wasn’t even set to do any scans (however the realtime scans were all on) Thanks for response btw. I did have one threat PUP:Win32 Adware BZI(PUP). I just put it into chest, while I’m here, should I delete it or what? lol K and thanks again.

The scans shouldn’t have disappeared, but a glitch can always happen.
I suggest to perform a repair of avast if they won’t stay if you schedule one now.

Other than that, enable pup scanning if you haven’t done so already.
And follow these instructions https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
A good check never hurts :wink:

PUP is not a threat

PUP = Potentially unwanted Program > https://www.virusbtn.com/resources/glossary/potentially_unwanted.xml

I just put it into chest, while I'm here, should I delete it or what?
That is up to you, but there is no rush deleting stuff in chest, i usually let it stay there for a couple of weeks before i do

Thanks. I haven’t deleted, and I did just put it in the chest. When I said ‘threat’ I was just stating what my Avast quickscan called it/the ‘page’ it was on. Had that one ‘threat’ and then the 9 or so ‘warnings’.

I think it is just very odd that I have absolutely no record of any prior scans, none, pft gone. I have all the ‘realtime’ running that I can with my subscription. I don’t have the cleanup-yet. Ins the past, I have had more trouble with auto cleaners than with doing the cleaning myself, up to what I am able to do that is. If I don’t know I don’t do it.

I doubled checked this morning and my settings and the recent scan history is intact for now. Have a great week, thanks for the help.
